Renowned sports journalist, Saddick Adams, has reminisced his viral video from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, claiming that he felt hopeless at the time.

Saddick Adams lost his sense of bearing immediately after Mozambique sucker-punched Ghana with a late equalizer in the final Group B match of the 2023 AFCON.

Speaking in an interview on GhanaWeb Sports Check, he disclosed that the video was shot by a Ugandan journalist because he had been teasing his colleagues from other African countries.

Given account of what happened, he stated that he was already on his way to the press room for a post-match briefing because Ghana was ahead 2-0 with a few minutes remaining.

He said Mozambique reduced the deficit when he got to the first terrace with two minutes left on the clock.

He continued that after the goal, he decided to see the match through, and just as he descended, Mozambique equalized.

Saddick mentioned that getting his hopes crushed and the thought of going back to the hotel to pack his bags embodied the emotions that was witnssed in the viral video.

The award-winning sports broadcaster went bonkers after Mozambique got their equalizer with a header in the final minute of the game played on Monday, January 22, 2024.

In the video, Obama, as he is widely known, vented his spleen by hitting the spectators’ seat multiple times and removing his media tag before storming the press centre before the match was officially closed.

Watch as Saddick Adams narrates how his viral AFCON video came about via the video below from the 22nd minute:
