Ibrahim Saanie Daara, the former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has questioned the timing of Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adam’s press conference on the Black Stars’ budget for the games against Chad and Mali.
Addressing journalists in Accra on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Kofi Adams revealed that the GFA’s initial $2 million request for September’s double-header had been reduced to $1.3 million following ministerial review.
This according to Ibrahim Saanie Daara was wrong because no army in the world will announce the reduction of the soldier’s salaries on the eve of war.
The CAF Media Officer made this comment on social media and repeated it in an interview with Sporty FM on Friday, September 5, 2025, after Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
