The wife and elder sister of the late Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, have clarified that Philip Kwabena Agyeman Appiah-Kubi, also known as Roman Fada, is no longer recognised as the musician’s manager.

According to them, the late singer terminated Roman Fada’s role before his passing.

In a statement dated November 6, 2025, and signed by Akosua Serwaa, wife of the late musician, and Ernestina Fosu, the singer’s sister, the family noted that Roman Fada’s continued reference to himself as Daddy Lumba’s manager is misleading.

“The family also wishes to clarify that the position Mr Appiah-Kubi continues to claim, as ‘manager’ of the late Mr Fosu, was officially terminated by the late Mr Fosu himself before his passing, a fact he is well aware of,” the statement read.

The statement also included a caution to Roman Fada, ordering him to cease all public communications, statements, or activities related to the late musician and his funeral.

The family made it clear that any attempt to issue information, distribute unauthorised materials, or interfere in family discussions would not be tolerated.

“The family, therefore, issues this public warning to Mr Philip Kwabena Agyeman Appiah-Kubi (Roman Fada) to immediately cease and desist from making public statements or issuing any information regarding the late Mr Fosu or his funeral, distributing or promoting any unauthorised funeral invitations or materials, and interfering in any ongoing private family discussions or arrangements related to the deceased,” the statement added.

The family further reminded the public that Roman Fada is not a member of the Fosu family, and therefore, has no standing to make pronouncements or take part in arrangements concerning the late musician’s funeral.

They urged the public and media to disregard any information not issued by the family or their appointed representatives.

They also cautioned that if these actions continue, the family will consider legal measures against Roman Fada to protect the reputation and legacy of the late Highlife legend.

Ghana lost one of its musical legends, Daddy Lumba, on July 26, 202,5 at the Bank Hospital after an illness and is expected to be laid to rest on December 6, 2025, in Kumasi.
