Former manager of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, Philip Kwabena Agyeman Appiah-Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada, has denied claims that he has been distributing funeral invitations on behalf of the musician’s family.

In an interview with Kofi Adoma Nwanwani on Kofi TV, Roman Fada described the allegations as false, insisting that those who understand him would know he would never do such a thing.

According to him, the late singer’s family head, Victor Kofi Owusu Banahene, together with the funeral committee, had not yet printed any official invitation cards.

He added that his recent trip to Kumasi, which is where he is alleged to have gone to invite Opambour for Daddy Lumba’s funeral, had nothing to do with the funeral arrangements but was related to activities with his political party, the Ghana Freedom Party.

“I am making it clear that I have not visited people to share invitations for Daddy Lumba’s funeral. Anyone who has received any invitation should come and speak out publicly,” he said.

Daddy Lumba’s wife, Akosua Serwaa, and elder sister, Ernestina Fosu, issued a press statement on November 6, 2025, warning him to stop sharing what they said was unauthorised information about the late musician’s funeral.

In the statement, the two family members accused Roman Fada of parading himself as Daddy Lumba’s manager even though, according to them, he had been officially relieved of that role before the singer’s passing.

They further stated that Roman Fada was not a family member and, therefore, had no legal, moral, or traditional authority to speak or act on behalf of the family.

The statement also cautioned him against sending out any funeral invitations or making public comments concerning the funeral arrangements without authorization from the family.
