The Roc Nation Sports International (RNSI) has announced the launch of its first youth football tournament in Africa, unveiling the inaugural Roc Cup to be held in Accra from February 23 to 28, 2026.

The competition, scheduled for the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, marks a significant milestone in the agency’s recent expansion into the African football market.

A total of 10 elite youth teams from Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea will compete in a round-robin format.

Grant Veitch, Director of African Football Recruitment at RNSI, said the tournament underscored the company’s long-term ambitions on the continent.

“The Roc Cup is more than just a tournament; it is a visible declaration of our commitment to African football,” he said. “After signing several incredible teenage talents last year, we are solidifying our investment by hosting this special event.”

RNSI noted that the initiative is aimed at boosting grassroots football development, strengthening community engagement and creating potential pathways for young African players to European clubs.

International and African scouts are expected to attend the week-long competition.

Participating teams include Benab FC, Zilina Africa, Fadama Field Masters and Semper Fi from Ghana; Triple 44 FC and Sporting Lagos from Nigeria; Empire FC and Racing Club d’Abidjan from Côte d’Ivoire; SOAR Academy from Guinea; and Kadji Sports Academy from Cameroon.

All matches will be free to attend at the 10,000-seat venue, a move organisers say is intended to attract families, students and young football enthusiasts.

Local volunteers, vendors and small businesses are also expected to participate in the event.
