    One person is dead and several others have been rushed to hospital following a gas leak at a restaurant in Sydney‘s north-west. 

    Emergency services were called to Haveli Indian restaurant on the corner of Garfield Road and Railway Terrace in Riverstone about 9.15am on Tuesday.

    One member of the public and five police officers were rushed to Blacktown Hospital, while another was treated at the scene. 

    NSW Ambulance said the gas is suspected to be carbon monoxide.

    Firefighters in hazmat suits, specialist doctors, intensive care paramedics and a helicopter were called to the scene.
