Former Chief Executive Officer of the State Transport Corporation (STC), Nana Akomea, has criticized former President John Mahama over his decision to revoke public sector appointments made after December 7, 2024.

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, recently issued a directive that all public sector appointments and recruitments made after the December 7 elections be annulled, citing concerns about non-compliance with good governance practices and principles. The move has sparked significant debate, with many questioning the timing and intentions behind such a decision.

Speaking on the Kokrokoo morning show on Peace FM, Nana Akomea raised questions about the reason for the revocation.

“Is this Mahama’s method of resetting the nation as he pledged during his campaign?” he inquired. Akomea also expressed worries about the larger consequences of such moves, wondering if it suggests that when a government loses an election, it essentially forfeits its decision-making authority until the new president is inaugurated.

“Does this mean when a government loses an election, it has no power to do anything until the next president is sworn in? Meanwhile, he also did the same thing in December 2016. What is this? Is this the reset you talked about?” Akomea asked the President.
