Japanese super featherweight upstart Reito Tsutsumi took on undefeated Alvino Herrera Meza in a scheduled ten rounder. Tsutsumi almost turned the trick in the first round as he dropped Herrera twice. A well-timed tackle by the Mexican spared him the indignity of a first round stoppage as time ran out for the Japanese to do the deed in one. It didn’t take long though as Tsutsumi picked up where he left off and dropped Herrera quickly in the second round, prompting referee Luis Pabon call a halt at :28 of the second round. Tsutsumi moves to 5-0, 4 KOs while Herrera loses his first at 18-1-2, 11 KOs.
Danish super middleweight Jacob Bank scored unanimous shutout (80-72) over fellow unbeaten Pawel August (UK by way of Poland). Bank dominated from beginning to end, despite the aggression of August. Bank improves to 20-0, 11 KOs, while August loses his first at 18-1, 7 KOs. Bank is currently ranked #2 by the WBO & WBC.
Opening the PPV portion of the Joshua-Prenga show, Indian super welter Nishant Dev dropped Peruvian Cesar Diaz three times for a stoppage at 2:56 of the first round. Dev is now 7-0, 5 KOs. Diaz falls to 10-3, 5 KOs.
