Closing out the preliminary portion of the Joshua-Prenga PPV, Ukrainian Olympian Oleksandr Khyzniak dropped French light. Heavyweight Lenny Petrach twice in the second round, forcing referee Luis Pabon to wave matters off at 1:56. The “Ukranian Tank” moves to 2-0, 2 KOs, while Petrach loses his first, falling to 8-1-1, 5 KOs. Khyzniak won silver at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and gold in Paris 2024.
Saudi super lightweight Ziyad Almaayouf out pointed Tanzanian Frank Mango over eight rounds by scores of 78-71 and 77-72 twice. It started out looking like it was going to be easy for Almaayouf as he dropped Mango to the seat of his pants in the first. However, Mango returned the favor in the fifth, dropping Almaayouf with a good left of his own. Judging by the reaction of the fans, the judge’s scores were a bit wider than they felt. Almaayouf returns to his winning ways as he improves to 8-1-1, 1 KO. The hard-luck Mango falls to 8-2, 5 KOs.
Hot British flyweight Mikie Tallon wasted no time in dropping Venezuelan Orlando Pino for the count with a vicious body shot. Referee Koji Tanaka reached the count of “10” at 1:31. Tallon rises to 15-0, 5 KOs. Pino drops to 17-4, 11 KOs.
Saudi lightweight Mohammed Alakel wore down Malta’s Lyson Chircop over five dominant rounds. Alakel dropped Chircop with a left to the liver in round four, followed by two more body shot knockdowns in round five. The time was 2:02 of the round. Alakel moves to 9-0, 3 KOs. Chircop falls to 8-5, 4 KOs.
Saudi super feather Sultan Almohammed stopped Spaniard Efren Besalduch with two knockdowns in the third round of a scheduled four. A left to the body and a subsequent left to the jaw accounted for both knockdowns. Referee Koji Tanaka waved it off at 2:41 of the third, raising Alnohammed’s ledger to 5-0, KOs. Besalduch drops to 3-4-1, 1 KO.
Egyptian southpaw middleweight Omar Hikal beat Spaniard Brian Castellano by scores of 40-35 across the board to move to 2-0, 1 KO. Castellano falls to 2-2. Castellano hit the deck from a dubious knockdown in the third.
Opening up a huge Joshua – Prenga card were super lightweights Mahmoud Moubarak (Mohamed Mabrouk Yahya) of Egypt taking on Bryan Zapata of Colombia in a scheduled for rounder. Moubarak had things his way, winning by scores of 39-37 and 40-36 twice. Moubarak is now 2-0. Zapata falls to 5-10-1, 4 KOs.
