The incident happened in Oyo, where the century-old tree, known as Igi Odan, had fell during a rainstorm, killing four persons who stood under it to seek shelter.
The tree was severed from the roots when it fell and within 24 hours, it rose back to its feet again.
Oyo monarch, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, visited the scene to mourn with the families of the bereaved who died under the tree.

Bode Durojaye, media aide of Oba Lamidi spoke with the Punch and made it known that the monarch personally went to the community to see the tree and condole the family of the victims.
Bode Durojaye, the media aide of Alaafin said: “He went there. The fallen tree rose back again mysteriously. Kabiyesi condoled with the people there over the sad incident.”
Head of Operations at the Western Nigeria Security Network, better known as Amotekun Corps, Akeem Ojo, also reacted to the news as he revealed the number of casualties recorded at the scene.
He said: .“One person was seriously injured and taken to a private hospital in the area, while motorcycle and mini buses parked under the tree were damaged,”
