There was chaos at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, during the Ghana Armed Forces’ ongoing recruitment exercise.
Hundreds of eager recruits had thronged the venue, with some arriving as early as 2:00 a.m. in hopes of securing a place.
By mid-morning, however, the situation had turned tense as the swelling crowd struggled to gain access to the premises.
Frustrated and visibly angry, some of the applicants spoke exclusively to GhanaWeb’s Victoria Kyei Baffour.
They recounted how, despite travelling long distances from outside the Greater Accra Region, they were unable to go through the scheduled body screening or present their documents.
According to them, the sheer number of people at the stadium created confusion and disorder, forcing security officials to ask many to leave the premises without being attended to.
Several recruits described the experience as disheartening, especially after investing time, money and effort to be part of the exercise.
