The recent success story of the Black Stars in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers cannot be told without mentioning the Ghanaian coaches who have managed the team.

Some local coaches, such as James Kwasi Appiah and Otto Addo, have led the team to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

Many of these coaches are still active in team management. Kwasi Appiah, for instance, is currently in charge of the Sudan national team and has qualified them for the 2025 AFCON but might missed out on the World Cup after back-to-back defeats in the qualifiers.

While some coaches recorded higher win rates across more matches, others had lower success rates in the Black Stars.

This GhanaWeb feature puts the spotlight on the records of the local coaches who have managed the Black Stars in the last two decades.
