Sports journalist Patrick Osei Agyemang, popularly known as Countryman Songo, has criticised the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) decision to reconstitute the Black Stars Management Committee.

He argued that restructuring the committee without revamping the technical team may not necessarily lead to positive results.

The host of the “Fire for Fire” show on Adom TV stated that the GFA’s decision to retain the Black Stars coach while focusing on other areas demonstrates poor managerial skills.

“Reconstituting the Black Stars Management Committee while keeping the coach is a display of remarkable ineptitude,” Countryman Songo wrote on X.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that the GFA is planning to dismiss assistant coaches John Paintsil and Joseph Laumann to recruit new personnel and strengthen the technical team.

About the Black Stars Management Committee

Dr. Randy Abbey, an Executive Council member of the GFA, has been appointed to chair the committee and lead engagements with the government and other key stakeholders.

Stephen Appiah, the former Black Stars captain, will serve as Vice Chairman, focusing on player relations.

Samuel Aboabire, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and a GFA Executive Council member, along with Moses Armah, President of Medeama Sporting Club, will manage operations and matchday activities, ensuring that the interests of sponsors, partners, and collaborators are well attended to.

Richard Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex 1996, the Ghana Premier League champions, will oversee special duties.
