Artiste manager and entertainment pundit, Bullgod, has criticised the National Sports Authority (NSA) for preventing Sarkodie from using the Baba Yara Sports Stadium pitch during his Rapperholic: Homecoming concert in Kumasi.

Speaking on Channel One TV on Saturday, October 4, 2025, Bullgod, a member of the event’s organising team, expressed disappointment over what he described as unnecessary restrictions that affected the concert’s logistics and safety.

“I was disappointed that we couldn’t have the whole stadium to ourselves because the crowd you saw in there, we had two times or more out there. The traffic leading to the stadium was so huge… we needed helicopters there,” he said.

He explained that the restriction created congestion and potential safety risks, adding that allowing full access to the pitch would have eased pressure on other parts of the venue.

“Some of these things could have caused stampedes and deaths. If you had that crowd on that stage, you put pressure on that part of the structure,” he added.

Bullgod further argued that the NSA’s insistence on protecting the stadium’s turf was misplaced, especially when alternative restoration plans had been proposed.

“Would you want to compare grass to lives? We are talking about people; grass can always grow back. We even gave them options for fixing the grass after the event, but they rejected them,” he said.

He also pointed out that the Baba Yara Stadium is underutilised and not in the best condition, saying, “They are not making money from football; the place itself wasn’t in a good state. It’s not like it was a busy place.”

Sarkodie’s Rapperholic: Homecoming concert drew thousands of fans from across the country, marking one of the biggest music events in Kumasi in 2025.
