Ghanaian forward Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer netted his 12th league goal of the season, contributing to Hamburger SV’s commanding 4-0 victory over SV Darmstadt 98 in the 2. Bundesliga on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

The match, held at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor, saw HSV dominate from the outset. Ludovit Reis opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, setting the tone for the visitors.

Königsdörffer doubled the lead in the 58th minute, capitalizing on a well-executed team play to find the back of the net. Davie Selke added a third in the 80th minute, and Robert Glatzel sealed the victory with a goal in stoppage time.

This win propels Hamburger SV to the top of the 2. Bundesliga standings, bringing them closer to securing promotion to the Bundesliga.

With only one more victory needed to confirm their ascent, HSV is poised to end their seven-year absence from Germany’s top flight.

Königsdörffer’s performance has been instrumental in HSV’s successful campaign. His 12 goals this season underscore his importance to the team’s offensive prowess and highlight his development as a key player for both club and country.

Hamburger SV will look to maintain their momentum in their upcoming fixture against SSV Ulm, aiming to secure the points needed for promotion.
