Ghanaian duo, Rahim Ibrahim and Sharani Zuberu, have etched their names in Slovakian football history after helping Slovan Bratislava clinch the 2024/25 Slovak Super Liga title.

Slovan sealed the championship in dramatic fashion with a thrilling 4-3 comeback victory over MSK Zilina at the Tehelne Pole Stadium on Saturday.

The win secured Slovan’s seventh consecutive league title, underscoring their dominance in Slovak football.

The decisive fixture saw Slovan fall behind early, as Cameroonian midfielder Xavier Adang struck twice in the 18th and 26th minutes to hand Zilina a commanding 2-0 lead.

However, David Strelec sparked a revival with a goal shortly after, only for Zilina to restore their two-goal cushion through Mario Sauer in the 39th minute.

Slovan responded strongly, with veteran winger Robert Mak reducing the deficit just before halftime.

The second half was a showcase of Slovan’s resilience and firepower, as Strelec scored twice more within ten minutes to complete his hat-trick and turn the game around.

The remarkable comeback sealed the title in front of a jubilant home crowd.

Ibrahim played 80 minutes before being substituted by Julius Szoke, while Zuberu came on at the same time to replace Mak.

Ibrahim, a January signing, has featured in 10 matches, scoring once and assisting once. Zuberu has been more involved over the season, making 20 appearances with two goals and an assist to his name.
