The winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024, Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, recently made a significant move towards climate action by visiting Hon. Seidu Issifu, the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability.

This courtesy call took place at the Office of the President – Annex, with a primary focus on fostering government support and collaboration to tackle climate change through localized solutions.

As the founder of EcoGreen Oases Legacy, Queen Titiaka is a staunch advocate for sustainable development, environmental conservation, and gender empowerment. During the meeting, she presented her flagship initiative, “Empowering Communities for Climate Action,” which champions community-driven strategies for climate adaptation and resilience through initiatives such as waste management, recycling, tree planting, and promoting clean cooking solutions.

In their discussion, the former Face of UPSA and UPSA SRC Women’s Commissioner stressed the urgent need to localize climate solutions for greater effectiveness and sustainability. She emphasized the importance of community-based interventions, public education, and policy-backed initiatives in driving meaningful impacts to combat environmental degradation.

Minister Seidu Issifu welcomed Queen Titiaka warmly, congratulating her on her achievements and commending her commendable commitment to environmental sustainability. He acknowledged the essential role that young leaders like her play in shaping Ghana’s climate policies and solutions. The Minister expressed eagerness to explore collaboration opportunities with EcoGreen Oases Legacy and other youth-led organizations focused on climate action.

Furthermore, he encouraged Queen Titiaka to take her initiatives to the grassroots level, emphasizing the importance of making climate advocacy accessible to all communities. The Minister committed to supporting her in ways that could further her efforts, reinforcing the government’s strong stance on youth involvement in climate initiatives.

This engagement signifies a vital step toward bridging the gap between grassroots activism and governmental policy in Ghana’s fight against climate change. With the support of the Ministry, EcoGreen Oases Legacy aims to scale up its projects, collaborating with local communities, policymakers, and development partners to advance Ghana’s climate resilience agenda.

Queen Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim reiterated her dedication to community empowerment, stating, “Winning this crown is not just a personal achievement; it’s about using this platform to ignite real change. Effective climate action must be localized and inclusive, ensuring that every community, especially the vulnerable, benefits from sustainable solutions.”

This meeting marks the beginning of what is anticipated to be a fruitful collaboration between EcoGreen Oases Legacy and the Ghanaian government, focused on advancing policies and grassroots initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and resilience amid the ongoing climate crisis.
