Some Ghanaians on social media have called for the arrest and interdiction of the suspected military man who was caught on video physically assaulting two people at a pharmacy on October 29, 2025.

The suspect, who was in plain clothes, stormed the pharmacy at Burma Camp to demand a refund of about GH¢65.00 after rejecting medication he had sent a boy to purchase on his behalf.

The attendant reportedly informed him that drugs sold are non-refundable, which infuriated the man and led him to assault both the attendant and the woman.

The visibly angry man, while exchanging words with the attendant, pushed a female customer who was also present in the shop and began physically assaulting her.

He landed several slaps on the woman’s face before proceeding to punch and slap the male attendant, who was behind the counter, as well.

Despite attempts by other people to calm down the alleged military man, he refused to stop and went after the female customer, who had by then exited the shop after the assault.

After exiting the shop to further attack the woman, the man returned and grabbed a metallic foldable ladder already in the pharmacy and appeared to threaten the shop attendant while demanding his money.

The incident has sparked massive public outrage, with many Ghanaians condemning the incident.

They are calling for swift action to be taken against the suspected military officer to serve as a deterrent to others.

Critics have also highlighted the growing trend of military brutality, questioning why the man went on a rampage over such a trivial issue and a small amount of money, especially when he was unprovoked, as captured on video.

Others have praised the existence of the CCTV footage, noting that the man could have gotten away with his actions and denied ever doing so.

The Armed Forces will take care that soldier in the morning. Because of $6.5.

This woman did absolutely nothing to deserve such cruelty from such a “military officer”. Dismissing him from his army is nowhere near enough. He should be sent to Nsawam/Ankaful straight. Very disgraceful that someone trusted with the duty to protect could act with such… https://t.co/miuk0eXLSs

Watch the military respond with an internal disciplinary action or inquiry, no jail time, no sack, nothing. 2 months suspension with pay tops and he’ll be reinstated as if nothing happened. https://t.co/FaULkpDoKG

He’s probably one of the weaklings in the military but it’s here that he wants to show his muscles smh https://t.co/zvZSVn5Mee

One day, I’ll talk about how the security officers at the Ho passport office bullied my friend and I. The director’s excuse was that they are trained differently so that’s why they behave the way they do. If they’re trained to act like animals, they should be in the Accra Zoo. https://t.co/PpHIZ8xLWB

We expect swift action against that military officer who assaulted the pharmacy staff and a customer.

I trust the PSGH and the Pharmacy Council to get involved and monitor this closely. Such behaviour must never be repeated anywhere in the country.
