Ghanaian musician Prosper Dossey, widely known by his stage name Prosdos, has been officially recognized by the Regroupement pour la Culture Togolaise (RECTO), a prominent cultural body in Togo, for his contributions to music and the arts.

In an attestation issued and signed by Mr. Tcheou Gnaname “Nicolson”, President of RECTO and former Administrator of the Togolese Copyright Office (BUTODRA), Prosdos was formally acknowledged as a singer, musician, and registered member of the organization.

The certificate states that Prosper Dossey has been a member of RECTO since May 20, 2022, under registration number 0040. It further affirms his status as a recognized artist within the Togolese cultural community.

“I, the undersigned Tcheou Gnaname ‘Nicolson,’ President of the Regroupement pour la Culture Togolaise (RECTO), and former Administrator of the Togolese Copyright Office (BUTODRA), hereby certify that Prosper Dossey is an artist, musician, and singer, and a member of our structure since May 20, 2022, registered under number 0040. In witness whereof, this attestation is issued to serve as proof of his artistic standing. Done in Lomé, July 9, 2023.”

    A Recognition of Artistry

This honor adds to the growing list of recognitions received by Prosdos in recent years. The Ghanaian artist has been steadily making waves across West Africa with his distinctive sound, blending African traditional rhythms with contemporary music.

Known for songs such as “Bebe Shokoma”, Prosdos has performed at major festivals, including the Aspatere Festival and Akwaba Festival, captivating audiences with his creativity and cultural pride.

    Cultural Ambassador

By acknowledging him as a registered member, RECTO not only validates Prosdos’ contributions to music but also highlights his role as a cultural ambassador, bridging Ghanaian and Togolese cultural heritage through his performances.

This recognition follows earlier honors, including his attestation from Togo Culture Internationale in July 2023, and his Grand Prix Africain de la Culture award from the Union Africaine Pour La Culture in 2025.
