Prophet Jedidiah Henry Kore, popularly known as Prophet Fire Oja, has responded to the public criticism he faced after his prophecy about the Black Stars’ failed 2026 World Cup campaign was proven wrong.

This comes after a 2024 video of the founder of Holiness of Christ Zion Ministry went viral, in which he told his congregation that Ghana’s World Cup qualifying campaign would fail, following the team’s disappointment in not qualifying for the 2025 AFCON.

However, the prophecy backfired when the Black Stars secured their World Cup ticket by beating Comoros 1-0 on October 12, 2025.

In a new statement, Prophet Fire Oja remained unfazed, saying he had control over the national team.

“The Black Stars team is on my palm; I tune it to wherever I want it to be. Whether you like it or not… You can take this to social media for me to get dragged. I don’t mind. But I have them on the palm of my hand,” he declared.

I never said Ghana won’t qualify for the World Cup – Prophet Fire Oja

He also clarified his original prophecy, insisting that he had been misunderstood, saying he wasn’t talking about the qualifiers but rather the final tournament in 2026.

“I never said they won’t qualify for the World Cup. I said they will qualify but they won’t do well in the tournament,” he explained.

The pastor’s remarks have further fueled backlash online, with many Ghanaians lambasting him for his false prophecy and lack of remorse.
