US-based Ghanaian preacher, Prophet Jimmy Alla-Mensah, has again drawn public attention following the death of Pope Francis on April 21, 2025 — nearly five months after the prophet made a cryptic intercessory post about the pontiff’s wellbeing.

In a Facebook post on November 25, 2024, the leader of Jimmy Alla-Mensah Global Ministries and founder of House of Divine Glory Church wrote:

“Pope Francis. We lift Pope Francis before the Lord in intercessory prayers. We avert any death attack in Jesus’ mighty name.”

At the time, the post received limited attention. However, in the wake of the Pope’s passing earlier this week, it has resurfaced across social media platforms, with many of the prophet’s followers calling it another instance of divine foresight.

While Prophet Alla-Mensah did not specify any timeline or detail regarding the nature of the threat he sensed, his followers now interpret the post as a spiritual warning — a call to intercession that, according to the prophet’s ministry, reflects the sensitivity of God’s servants to global spiritual matters.

This comes just days after media houses reported another of the prophet’s pronouncements — a February 16 livestream during which he warned of an imminent earthquake in Turkey and mentioned the specific magnitude of 6.3. On April 23, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Istanbul, stirring renewed interest in his prophetic ministry.

Speaking briefly through his ministry’s page, Prophet Alla-Mensah reiterated the need for believers to remain vigilant and prayerful, especially for global leaders.

“We are called not to sensationalize, but to stand in the gap. Intercession is our duty,” he wrote.

Pope Francis, who led the Catholic Church since 2013, passed away at the age of 88 after months of declining health. Tributes have poured in from across the globe, honouring him for his humility, compassion, and efforts toward unity and reform within the church.
