According to a GhanaWeb source on the grounds, although the EC is yet to declare the official results, at the end of counting, Prof Seidu won the majority after polling 840 votes.

Over 1551 delegates were expected, but some absentees were reported.

This took place at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, where the National Democratic Congress (NDC) held its much-anticipated parliamentary primary in the Tamale Central Constituency.

Twelve aspirants, including three women, contested for the chance to represent the party in the upcoming by-election on September 30, 2025, following the tragic death of the late MP, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025.
