Former Black Stars striker, Prince Tagoe, has ranked Ghana Premier League legend Ismael Addo higher than Black Stars all-time top scorer Asamoah Gyan.

Tagoe chose the former Hearts of Oak striker over the former Sunderland man in a ‘this or that’ challenge with GhanaWeb’s Emmanuel Enin.

In the first round of the challenge, he picked Hearts of Oak legend Bernard Dong Bortey over Hearts and Kotoko cult hero Charles Taylor, former Black Stars striker Matthew Amoah over Junior Agogo, himself (Prince Tagoe) over former Hearts of Oak and Kotoko striker Louis Agyemang, Ismael Addo over ex-Kotoko striker Nana Arhin Duah, and Asamoah Gyan over former Black Stars striker Tony Yeboah.

In the second and final round, he picked Matthew Amoah over Charles Taylor, Tagoe over Amoah, Ismael Addo over Tagoe, and eventually Ismael Addo over Asamoah Gyan.

Asamoah Gyan is noted for his achievements with the national team, having had a relatively average club career.

He holds the record for Africa’s top scorer at the World Cup with 6 goals. He is also Ghana’s all-time top scorer with 51 goals.

Ismael Addo, on the other hand, is best known for his club career and is arguably the best goalscorer in the history of the Ghana Premier League.

He was the top scorer three times in a row, becoming the first and only player to achieve the feat. He was the first player to win the Golden Boot with 22 goals.

Addo won the CAF Champions League, CAF Super Cup, Ghana Premier League, and multiple league cups during his illustrious spell with Hearts of Oak.
