Prince Acheampong, also known as Sabuto, the head coach of King Faisal FC, has been officially declared deceased following a battle with an illness.

On January 5, 2025, the Division One League team named Acheampong to succeed Barnabas Awuni, who was fired after the team’s unsuccessful start to the 2024–2025 season.

The 52-year-old strategist has been fighting illness and has been in the hospital for the last three weeks, according to sources on Kickgh.com. He died on Tuesday afternoon. Known as ‘Tactical Sabuto,’ he has accumulated a tremendous amount of coaching expertise and has managed a number of clubs, including serving as assistant coach of Asante Kotoko in the 2010–11 campaign. He has served as a coach for Fabulous Ladies FC and Dunkwa United.

He led the boys’ soccer team from Opoku Ware School (OWASS) to third place in the Ashanti Regional Inter-School and Colleges in 2024. From 2016 until 2018, Acheampong, who has a CAF License A certificate, and T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS (T.I. AMASS) won the Ashanti Regional Inter-School Competition.
