Ghanaian coach Isaac Opeele Boateng has commended President John Dramani Mahama for playing a key role in the Black Stars‘ victories in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

According to him, the president’s competent leadership skills, which led him to visit the team ahead of their match against Chad, inspired the players to give their best.

The former Asante Kotoko coach noted that President Mahama’s engagement with the players and bonding with them during the visit boosted their morale to make the nation proud.

“How President Mahama’s masterful leadership turned Black Stars around. Will be my article, when Black Stars finally qualify for the World Cup,” he wrote on X.

The Black Stars defeated Chad 5-0 on March 21, 2025, and secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Madagascar on March 25, 2025.

After six matches played, Ghana lead Group I with 15 points, followed by Comoros with 12 points, while Madagascar lie in third position with 10 points.
