Presidential Advisor on the Economy, Seth Terkper, has confirmed that the composition of President John Mahama’s Economic Management Team (EMT) will soon be reviewed and officially announced.

Responding to questions about whether a formal body currently exists to steer economic policy, Terkper explained during an interview with Accra-based TV3 on June 27, 2025, that the current administration has been operating with two distinct structures: an advisory committee and the EMT.

Both bodies, he said, comprise ministers, key officials, and specialist stakeholders.

“Those mechanisms … are usually two structures, the advisory team and the EMT. Now that all those things have been done, swearing-in and everything, the composition will be reviewed. I think that announcement is imminent,” Terkper stated.

He explained that the core team will include, at a minimum, the Chief of Staff and the Minister of Finance, while emphasising that broader stakeholder engagement will continue through expanded consultations.

“At least my boss, the Chief of Staff, and the Finance Minister are key components. We also had expanded consultations, which came in the form of breakfast meetings or other engagements. But the team will certainly be announced,” he said.
