President John Dramani Mahama has confirmed his personal attendance at the sod-cutting ceremony for the Gomoa Central Special Economic Zone, a flagship project under the proposed 24-Hour Economy Programme.

The announcement was made by Gomoa Central MP, Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus), following the President’s Christmas visit to the constituency.

The Special Economic Zone is expected to drive round-the-clock industrial production, attract large-scale investments, and create sustainable employment for an estimated 300,000 people within a few years.

A Plus described the project as a major turning point for Gomoa Central and the Central Region, linking it to Ghana’s broader industrialisation agenda first championed by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and now being advanced through President Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy vision.

“This is no longer an idea or a campaign promise. It is happening,” the MP stated.
