President John Dramani Mahama was warmly received by an excited crowd and supporters upon his arrival in Burkina Faso for his official working visit on Monday, March 10, 2025.

Upon his arrival in Ouagadougou, President Mahama was greeted with loud cheers from the crowd, as seen in a video shared by Graphic Online and sighted by GhanaWeb.

The excited crowd appeared eager to welcome both their leader and President Mahama.

He was received by a high-profile delegation of state officials, including Burkina Faso’s Military Leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who was also seen in the video, smiling and waving at the jubilant crowd alongside President Mahama.

President Mahama’s visit is part of his broader diplomatic efforts to strengthen Ghana’s relations with its West African neighbors.

The two leaders are set to hold a high-level bilateral meeting to discuss key issues of mutual interest and deepen the bilateral ties between the two countries.

This marks President Mahama’s first official trip to the country since assuming office and his second meeting with Burkina Faso’s Military Leader, Captain Ibrahim Traore since January 7, 2025.

Captain Traoré had previously attended the inauguration ceremony of President Mahama on January 7, 2025, where he received a warm and enthusiastic reception from a large crowd at the Black Star Square upon the mention of his name.
