President John Dramani Mahama has lauded Archbishop Charles Agyinasare as the only courageous spiritual leader who spoke truth to power during some of Ghana’s most challenging moments.

Speaking at the Supernatural Empowerment Summit 2025 at Perez Chapel International in Accra, Mr Mahama described the founder of the Perez Chapel as a “lone voice” who stood firm when others remained silent.

“The good thing about the Archbishop is that I believe the work of a man of God is not only to preach the word. When God gives you a prophetic gift, you exercise it; if He gives you the gift of speaking in tongues, you exercise it. But most of all, what God expects from men of God is the courage to tell the truth at all times. And not many people have that courage. When times were tough in this country, he was a lone voice who stood out and had the courage to speak up,” Mr Mahama said during the summit’s grand finale on Sunday.

“I know what he went through because of that, but God will always protect His own,” the president added, drawing applause from a packed auditorium of thousands, including political, business, and faith leaders from over 45 countries.

The week-long summit brought together high-profile figures, including Dr Satish Kumar, pastor of one of the world’s largest churches, and members of Ghana’s political elite.

The Archbishop’s keynote sermon, titled “The Divine Mandate for Increase,” challenged believers across all spheres—ministry, marketplace, and government—to embrace spiritual empowerment for national transformation.

He called on politicians to see their public office as a divine altar and urged leaders to govern with wisdom and righteousness.

Archbishop Agyinasare also encouraged political leaders to take a rest when fatigued in order not to take decisions that could prove disastrous.

President Mahama, who attended the summit’s climax service, said the Archbishop’s message on “Managing the Anointing” spoke directly to him, especially the call for leaders to value rest and spiritual renewal.

Archbishop Agyinasare, known for his unapologetic sermons on governance and morality, has previously drawn public attention for his outspokenness on national issues—a trait Mr Mahama said deserves recognition.

The summit also marked a generational shift within Perez Chapel International, as the church inducted Rt Rev Raymond Kumah Acquah as its new Presiding Bishop and Rt Rev Dr Selaise Agyinasare, son of the Archbishop, as its new Administrative Bishop.

On the final night, representatives from across the nations gathered on stage with their national flags as Archbishop Agyinasare, draped in the Ghanaian flag, led prayers for global peace and national unity.

As the curtains fell on the high-profile summit, delegates departed Accra with renewed spiritual fervour and a call to transform their communities—echoing the Archbishop’s rallying cry for bold, faith-filled leadership across all sectors of society.
