President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Kofi Adams, the Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, as the Minister-designate of Sports and Recreation.
In a statement released on January 21, 2024, the president noted that Kofi Adams will spearhead affairs in the sports sector, as well as recreational activities.
His nomination is pending parliamentary approval after he undergoes the vetting process by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.
“The President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has submitted the names of the under listed to Parliament, through the Speaker, for prior approval to serve as Ministers of State and Regional Ministers,” the statement, signed by Acting Spokesperson to the President, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, read.
The Buem MP has the task of addressing the challenges in the sports sector, ranging from lesser-known sports to football, athletics, and other components of sports.
