President John Dramani Mahama’s has appointed Creative Entrepreneur, Baba Sadiq as Ghana’s High Commissioner designate to Nigeria.

He replaces Baba Jamal, who was recalled by the President, after he decided to contest the Ayawaso East by-election following the death of the Member of Parliament, Nasser Mahama Toure.

Baba Sadiq is expected to represent Ghana’s interests in Nigeria and work to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.

Announcing the appointment, Foreign Affairs Minister in a Facebook post on Sunday, March 1, wrote, “Congratulations, Baba Sadiq on your well-deserved appointment by President Mahama as High Commissioner designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

“I have no doubt you will hold aloft Ghana’s flag and make the youth of our continent proud,” he further added.

It would be recalled that Baba Sadiq, was the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei Central in the 2024 general election.
