    President John Dramani Mahama will join the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to launch the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season on Friday, September 12, 2025.

    The ceremony to usher in the new league season will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium at 5:00 p.m.

    A notice confirming President John Dramani Mahama as the Special Guest of Honour for the of launch added that award-winning reggae-dancehall artiste Stonebwoy will also perform at the ceremony.

    “The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season is officially launching!… Join us at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 12, 2025, at 5 PM. We’ll be joined by His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama, with a live performance by the Torcher, Stonebwoy. Get ready for an exciting season of Ghanaian football,” the GFA shared in a post on X.

    After the official launch of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, Hearts of Oak will host newly promoted Hohoe United FC at the Accra Sports Stadium at 7 pm for the first fixture of the season.

    The remaining eight matches in Week 1 will be played on Saturday [two matches] and Sunday [six matches].
