The Premier Tennis Club of Tema held a Farmers’ Day tennis competition as part of the 2025 Famers’ Day celebrations.

The KGL Foundation event has been in existence for over five years, saw hundreds of tennis lovers gathered at the Premier Tennis Club in Tema, to cheer and support their teams.

At the end of the tournament, it was Richard Frimpong Ansah and Sisu Tomegah of the Sakumono Tennis Club who were crowned champions of the competition after they defeated hosts, Premier Tennis club 7-1 in the doubles.

“We’re very excited, we came in very confident knowing what we could do but we also respected our opponents but we played with a free mind and came out with success,” said, Richard Frimpong Ansah.

His partner Sisu Tomegah was also proud representing Sakumono Tennis club.

“I’m also very excited, this is my first time representing Sakumono Tennis club and I’m happy to have made them proud. It was a very good game”

Chairman of Premier Tennis Club Dr. Michael Quashie also shared a few words.

“Basically it’s a day to celebrate the farmers through sports and tennis and we had teams from various tennis clubs to come and compete amongst themselves so it’s been a very good event.”

He also added that despite the success of this year, he’s hoping for an even bigger event next year.

“Its been a success but we’re hoping we can make it bigger and better next year.”

Awards presentations, food and good music ended what was a very successful day.
