The Premier League have announced that they will be broadcasting all 380 matches on their brand new streaming platform, exclusively in Singapore, to the anger of football fans in the UK.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Premier League + has been launched ahead of champions Arsenal kicking off the new campaign at home to promoted side Coventry City next Friday.

However, the platform will be fully accessible only to fans in the country, allowing them to watch every Premier League match for roughly just £25 per month.

Paul Molnar, Premier League Chief Media Officer, described Singapore as the ‘perfect place to introduce this new experience’.

The announcement has angered football fans in the United Kingdom, due to the premium prices they pay for subscription services to watch Premier League games.

Brits are forced to fork out money for Sky Sports and TNT Sports coverage, which can cost upwards of £100 per month.

In some cases, packages can cost over £200 for full Sky access, while the cheapest deal is little over £50.

In addition, due to the 3pm blackout rule in the UK, which some have said the Premier League should ‘abolish’ fans are unable to watch several games during the season.

Meanwhile, in Singapore the matches at that time will be accessible on Premier League+.

Furious supporters have taken to social media to voice their outrage at the news, with one describing it as an ‘absolute joke’.

The X user wrote: ‘This is quite incredible. Premier League+ giving Singapore fans all 380 matches live for £25.50 a month.

‘In England? You’re looking at over £100 a month for Sky + TNT… and you still miss over 100 games because of the 3pm blackout. Absolute joke.’

Another football fan based in the UK was similarly angered by the news and called it ‘criminal’.

They said: ‘It’s crazy that a country halfway around the world can watch every single Premier League game, but people in England can’t… Criminal!’

Well-known Crystal Palace fan account, @HLTCO, who boasts over 200,000 followers on X, also voiced his disappointment.

He said on social media: ‘The cheapest way of getting Sky Sports & TNT is £51 a month. I believe that gives you 267 of the 380 games across the Premier League season.

‘There’s literally no legal way to watch the other 113 games. This is the full package for half of that. We get taken the p*** out of.’

In addition to paying for subscription services, there is also the £180 TV licence fee that UK-based football lovers need to pay to watch the BBC, which shows FA Cup matches.

But for those in Singapore with StarHub, a Singaporean telecommunications company, Premier League, FA Cup, and Community Shield coverage are available in addition to the top flight as part of one package.
