Osanju is a Ghanaian TikToker
Netizens have been struck by the sudden passing of popular Ghanaian TikToker, Elvis Frimpong, popularly known as Osanju.
According to reports gathered by GhanaWeb, Osanju died in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025, after a long battle with blood cancer (leukemia).
Sources indicate that his last social media post was on August 31, 2025, in which he expressed disappointment with FC Barcelona following their 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano.

Prior to his untimely death, Osanju opened up in an interview with Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu, revealing how he had been accused of faking his illness to solicit funds online.
“If not for TikTok, I would be dead by now. Because it is through TikTok that some people gave me money to buy my drugs. I have chronic leukemia. At one point, people criticised me, saying my cancer wasn’t real and that I was using it to take money from others. But that isn’t true,” he said.
He also shared what led him to become a TikToker, explaining that he joined the platform out of loneliness and depression.
“If I told you what made me join TikTok, you would cry for me. I was lonely, so I just started doing videos to make people laugh. That’s how I became famous,” he added.
A few months ago, Osanju lost his mother, who had also battled the same illness.
Following the news of his passing, several sympathisers and social media influencers have expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
Prior to Osanju’s passing, he had over 1.1 million followers on TikTok.
