Parents have been urged to stop using a popular pram model over fears the product has a brake fault and could seriously injure babies and young children.

Product Safety Australia issued a recall notice for the Stokke YOYO 3 frame pram models on Tuesday.

Shoppers have been urged to stop using the product immediately.

The affected models are the Stokke YOYO 3 frame models that come in black and white colours with the product code 647101.

The prams contain the serial numbers ranging from 142AA0044415 to 142AA0044564.

The YOYO 3 frame pram models that come in black with the product code 647102 have also been affected by the issue.

The strollers contain the serial numbers ranging from 142AA0044565 to 142AA0045564.

Shoppers can find the serial number on the inside of the frame located underneath the seat cushion.

The products that have been impacted were sold at several retailers and online from September 29 to October 25.

The retailers that sold the strollers include Baby Bunting, Stokke Australia and Baby Kingdom.

Other stores that sold the prams are Banana Baby, Kiddie Country, Metro Baby, Thememo and Whole Bubs.

Customers are also advised the seat cushions of the affected prams are sold in nine different colours.

These colours are black, olive, aqua, stone, taupe, ginger, toffee, Air France blue and bonpoint beige.

Customers can also check if their stroller has been affected by visiting the Stokke’s recall page and they can also order a replacement free of charge.

Stokke Australia can also be contacted on (03) 8863 2886 for inquiries about making arrangements for a replacement.
