The residence of the former NPP Greater Accra Regional Youth Organizer, Moses Abor, has reportedly been raided by some masked and armed police officers in Accra.

According to a video sighted by GhanaWeb, some police officers could be seen invading a residence believed to be that of Abor, in Accra, on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

According to unconfirmed details, the team was in the house in search of the Bono Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman, Kwame Baffoe Abronye, popularly known as Abronye DC, who is wanted for unknown reasons.

This comes days after Abronye DC officially applied for political asylum, citing a pattern of intimidation and targeted abuse by state security agencies under the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.

According to his asylum appeal on September 5, 2025, he alleges that he was the first opposition politician detained by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) after voicing criticism of the government’s dismissal of tens of thousands of workers.

Abronye also claimed to have faced direct threats from individuals identifying themselves as police operatives, including warnings that he would be “dealt with mercilessly,” including potentially not coming back alive, if he persisted in his critiques.

His documents were submitted to multiple embassies and international bodies, including the UNHCR and UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Ghana, invoking protections under the 1951 Refugee Convention and related international protocols.

So far, no statement has been released by either the Ghana Police Service or the New Patriotic Party concerning the incident.
