Police have released CCTV footage of a man after a woman was ‘raped at a shopping centre’ and another was ‘assaulted nearby’.

West Midlands Police have released still images captured by cameras in Perry Barr on Saturday of a man wearing a tracksuit following reports that a woman had been sexually assaulted.

Officers were called to Walsall Road near to One Stop Shopping Centre at around 1:50am after a rape was reported. A short time later, they received a separate report that another woman had been assaulted on Aldridge Road, near to Holford Drive.

The man pictured is described as having short black hair, being of slim build, and was wearing tracksuit style bottoms and a hoodie.

Police say they are ‘keeping an open mind’ as to whether to two attacks are linked.

Detective Superintendent Adam Jobson of the force’s Public Protection Unit, said: ‘If you recognise this person or if you were in the area between 1am and 2am and remember seeing him, please get in touch.

‘I want to thank members of the public who have already come forward with information and continue to appeal to anyone who was in and around Walsall Road and Aldridge Road between 1am and 2am in particular anyone who might have dash-cam footage.
