The Ghana Police Service has announced the commencement of medical examinations for prospective recruits as part of the 2024 recruitment exercise.

In a statement shared on social media on November 11, 2024, the police indicated that the medical examinations would begin on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at selected centres.

The police also stated that all candidates attending the medical examination are required to pay GH¢ 980.

“The Ghana Police Service wishes to inform the general public that the police recruitment exercise, which was advertised in August this year, has moved to the next stage with the invitation of successful candidates for medical examination.

“The medical examination for candidates who have been invited via SMS will commence on Thursday, November 7, and conclude on Friday, November 8, 2024, in Accra, at the following designated locations,” part of the statement reads.

It added, “All successful candidates are to note that the cost of the medical examination is Nine Hundred and Eighty Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 980.00), which is the only payment to be made during this recruitment exercise. We, therefore, wish to caution successful candidates in particular and the public in general that anyone demanding any other payment should be considered a fraudster and must be reported to the police.”

The police urged applicants who did not advance to the medical examination stage not to make any payments to individuals promising assistance with recruitment.

“We also wish to caution unsuccessful candidates against making payments to any person demanding money under the pretext of assisting them to be recruited. Meanwhile, unsuccessful candidates have been notified accordingly, and we wish them better luck next time.”

Here are the centres for the medical examination:

    a. Police Church premises, near 37 Military Hospital

    b. Police Church premises, Odorkor

    c. Police Interdenominational Church premises, Police Depot, Tesano

    d. Formed Police Unit (FPU) Headquarters, Police Depot, Tesano

    e. Detective Training School, Police Depot, Tesano

    f. Police Academy, Police Depot, Tesano
