Ghana’s 2-1 defeat to Germany in Stuttgart during an international friendly has exposed defensive frailties in the Black Stars squad, while also highlighting individual performances in a game that ultimately led to the dismissal of head coach Otto Addo.

Although the result was not as heavy as some had feared, Ghana struggled defensively, with lapses proving costly. Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare delivered a modest performance, making a few saves but reacting late to the decisive second goal.

Young right-back Caleb Yirenkyi impressed with a composed display, contributing effectively in attack, while Derrick Kohn recovered from a shaky start to assist Ghana’s only goal.

Defender Jonas Adjetey endured another difficult outing, conceding a penalty for the second consecutive match, raising concerns over his form and sharpness.

In attack, Antoine Semenyo stood out with a confident display, linking well with teammates and driving forward with purpose. However, Prince Adu Kwabena struggled with decision-making in key moments.

Substitute Fatawu Issahaku made the biggest impact, scoring Ghana’s only goal shortly after coming on and showing composure in front of goal.

The match underlined key areas for improvement as Ghana prepares for upcoming international assignments.
