The phone seller has lost all his capital

A Ghanaian man who sells phone accessories has shared his ordeal after using his business capital to invest in a sports betting platform called Aviator.

According to him, he was focused on his phone business until a friend approached and convinced him to invest in Aviator to earn more money.

The phone accessories seller indicated that he initially invested about GH¢350,000 funds meant to support his business but lost it all in the betting scheme.

Speaking in an interview with Oheneni Adazoa on Sompa FM, the young man, who chose to remain anonymous, revealed that he also took bank loans to invest but lost those funds after becoming addicted to the platform.

“I am a young man who had money and owned a shop selling iPhones and accessories. A friend introduced me to Aviator and convinced me to try it. Since I started, I’ve spent all the money I used to run my business, almost GH¢350,000, and lost it. On top of that, I took a loan of about GH¢12,000 to invest,” he said in Twi.

He noted that he has now gone bankrupt, owes huge sums of money, and has shut down his shop due to lack of funds.

“Sometimes you win, but you get addicted over time. Now I’ve locked up my shop and owe about GH¢70,000. I’ve stopped betting and I’m hoping to recover,” he added.
