The Philadelphia Eagles have struck a deal with the 49ers that sees defensive end Bryce Huff head to San Francisco.

Huff helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl in February and only last year he was handed a new $51million contract.

But Huff will now head to the 49ers in exchange for a 2026 mid-round draft pick, pending a physical.

It was reported recently that Huff had reworked his $51million contract to help facilitate the move to San Francisco, where he will be reunited with Robert Saleh.

Saleh was previously Huff’s head coach at the New York Jets, where he played between 2020 and 2023. He is now defensive coordinator of the 49ers.

In 2023, while working under Saleh in New York, Huff made a career-high 10 sacks and had the best pressure rate in the NFL.

Huff is not the first former Jet to head to San Francisco. Linebacker Chazz Surratt and punter Thomas Morstead have also joined the 49ers this offseason to reunite with Saleh, who was fired by the Jets last season.

An Alabama native who played college football at Memphis, Huff could line up opposite veteran defensive star Nick Bosa.

San Francisco did draft edge rusher Mykel Williams out of Georgia, but the rookie first-round pick is just 20.

Huff, 27, recorded 13 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble while playing in 12 games (six starts) last season with the Eagles.

He landed on injured reserve on November 22 following surgery on his left wrist – an injury he sustained during warmups prior to the team’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Huff has totaled 78 tackles, 20 sacks and two forced fumbles in 66 career games (13 starts) with the Jets (2020-23) and Eagles.
