Former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper, Petr Cech, has confirmed he is separating from his wife, Martina, after 26 years together.
The 43-year-old football icon, who enjoyed an 11-year trophy-laden spell at Stamford Bridge, shared the news in an emotional social media post this week.
Alongside a black-and-white image of Martina kissing him on the cheek, Cech wrote:
“Martina and myself are sad to announce that we are separating after 26 years together. We remain best friends and immensely proud of our two children.”
Cech and Martina’s relationship began in 1999 when they met in high school. They married four years later, building a life together as the Czech star became one of the Premier League’s greatest-ever goalkeepers.
The couple have two children, Adela, 17, and Damian, 16, both born during his Chelsea career.

Their marriage weathered the challenges of life in elite sport, including in 2008 when Cech missed Adela’s birth while away with Chelsea for a League Cup semi-final against Everton.
Despite their separation, the former Blues technical advisor stressed there is no bitterness, saying they remain close friends and united as parents.
Adela is now a defender for Fulham and the Czechia U17 side, while Damian also has a passion for football.
