Young and talented Ghanaian singer Lasmid has opened up about the challenges he has faced in the music industry because of his overly respectful nature.

In an interview with Bryt TV, shared on X on December 7, 2025, Lasmid revealed that many people have taken advantage of him because of his respectful nature.

According to the “No Issues” singer, being excessively respectful often leads to insults and disrespect from several people he has encountered.

Lasmid explains why Fante isn’t a language he sings in

“I don’t know if I should say it or not, but being too respectful has made people take advantage of me,” he said.

He further noted that he regrets being overly respectful.

    2025 was a gift – Lasmid reflects

Lasmid explained that he had always wished people would reciprocate the same energy, but after realising that many did not, he decided to adjust how he relates to others.

“If I had it my way, I would not be that respectful. I wish people would reciprocate the same respect. For now, I respect people who respect me as well. At first, I respected people who failed to give me the same energy,” he added.
