Stonebwoy is a Ghanaian dancehall musician

Ghanaian dancehall musician Stonebwoy has weighed in on what appears to be the new normal on the popular social media platform, X.

In a video shared on social media on February 5, 2026, the musician, in an exclusive interview with 1957News, expressed disappointment in some X users, describing their constant backlash and criticism on the platform as “stupidity.”

According to Stonebwoy, some netizens use social media as a space to exhibit their ignorance, adding that he is not perturbed by online backlash.

Stonebwoy further noted that persistent negativity on social media yields no benefit to the country; therefore, netizens should refrain from unwarranted criticism.

“I am confident and not scared of trolls. I made that statement because that is the reality. People use Twitter as a garbage dump where they come to express all their stupidity.

“I have come to understand that what some people do on Instagram, they do not do on X. I am also of the school of thought that this behaviour is common on the platform, and we can all attest to it. I do not think being internationally known for trolls and negativity will take us anywhere,” he said.

Stonebwoy’s comments follow an earlier statement at the just-ended African Prosperity Dialogue 2026, where he addressed the persistent online attacks on his personality and family.
