Kojo Manueal is a popular Ghanaian MC and hypeman play videoKojo Manueal is a popular Ghanaian MC and hypeman

Popular Ghanaian MC and hypeman Kojo Manuel has shared some challenges that he and other professionals in his field tend to face, especially from Ghanaians.

Sometimes I am required to sign NDAs not to use my catchphrase – Kojo Manuel

In a recent interview with GhanaWeb’s Elsie Lamar, he explained that his work on stage makes people anticipate a bold, loud persona, a perception he finds both misleading and limiting.

“Everybody has a perception of you because of what you do. So whenever you meet people, they expect you to be ‘rough’ because they expect you to be loud and to be engaged in all kinds of crazy things,” he said on Talkertainment.

However, he added that his upbringing in a Christian home has nurtured a desire for a “normal life.”

This contrast, he says, often leaves him and other MCs with chaotic personal lives.

“I was raised in a Christian home, so there’s still a part of me that wants to live a normal life. But people still treat you like an outsider. So sometimes, other MCs and I will attest to this: your personal life is always in shambles. That is why it’s beautiful to watch the likes of Stonebwoy and his wife, Dr Louisa, because it’s not common,” he added.
