Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is reportedly in no hurry to extend his stay at Arsenal, as he has attracted interest from some major European clubs.

According to CaughtOffside, head coach Mikel Arteta prioritizes Partey as one of his key players and is pushing the club to ensure his contract is extended beyond this season.

However, despite the push from the team, the Black Stars midfielder is reluctant to commit his future to the club, as he has attracted interest from Juventus and FC Barcelona as possible destinations.

Arsenal journalist Charles Watts shared insight into the situation:

“Partey has shown with his performances this season that he can still perform at the highest level, and perhaps, more importantly, he has shown that his body can still stand up to the demands of a Premier League season.

“I think a big part of what happens will revolve around Partey himself. He will probably receive offers from abroad that will be far more lucrative and far longer than what he will be offered by Arsenal, should they even opt to offer him new terms,” he said, as reported by CaughtOffside.

Meanwhile, Barcelona believe Partey’s free agency will aid their financial status, as they will not have to pay any transfer fees for his services. Juventus, on the other hand, are looking to bolster their midfield with an experienced midfielder.

It is understood that the player is waiting for the season to end to assess his options before making a final decision.

He has been integral to Arteta’s squad for the 2024/2025 season, starting most of the games for Arsenal in the Premier League and the Champions League.
