Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the founder of Groupe Nduom, has expressed his dissatisfaction with President Akufo-Addo’s administration, accusing it of disregarding his efforts to restore his failed firms.

Dr. Nduom detailed his struggles in a Facebook Live video following the closure of GN Bank in 2018, when the Bank of Ghana (BoG) revoked its license as part of financial sector reforms. The closing of GN Bank impacted his other businesses, including Gold Coast Fund Management, resulting in the loss of around 6,000 employment.

Dr. Nduom indicated that the failure of GN Bank stopped monies critical to the functioning of his other businesses. This caused substantial difficulty in paying salaries and maintaining business operations, resulting in widespread unemployment and financial hardship.

Dr. Nduom claims to have made multiple attempts to obtain help since the collapse, including contacting traditional chiefs, church leaders, and current government members. He claimed to have submitted petitions and presented collaborative ways to recover customers’ funds and rebuild the bank, but his efforts have been met with silence.

“I have contacted several people, including chiefs, bishops, and members of this administration, requesting assistance. I’ve submitted petitions to the government, offering ways we may collaborate to secure customer monies and rebuild. “But all of my efforts have been ignored,” he complained.

Dr. Nduom stressed the consequences of the government’s inactivity, emphasizing the significance of resurrecting his businesses to restore jobs and alleviate the financial anguish of impacted individuals and families.
