The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially charged Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the owner of the football team Elmina Sharks, after a heated league game against Swedru All Blacks. A number of things that occurred during the game at the Dr. Nduom Sports Complex have recently come under intense investigation from football officials.

The incident in question happened during a penalty call that caused the game to be disrupted. In an attempt to challenge the referee’s ruling, Dr. Nduom approached the field without the required permission.

In addition to disrupting the game, his antics caused match officials to respond harshly, which raised questions about how club ownership should behave during competitive matches.

The GFA has charged Dr. Nduom with instigating his team’s players, officials, and supporters against the match officials in addition to the immediate disruption. Sources claim that he encouraged more tension on social media by telling supporters and club executives to confront the referees. These behaviors have been characterized as provocative, which may have contributed to the environment that resulted in confrontations with match officials.

Dr. Nduom is now facing severe accusations as a result of these claims, including violations of the GFA Disciplinary Code and the Division One League Regulations.

He has until Wednesday, February 19, 2025, to provide a formal answer, according to the association.

Since the GFA is prepared to move decisively to restore discipline and fairness within the game, the football community is anxiously awaiting his defense.
