The National Youth Organiser of the NDC, George Opare Addo, has accused President Akufo-Addo of trying to sabotage the NDC Youth Wing’s 24-Hour Economy Park event. Initially scheduled to take place at the Accra Mall, the event was suddenly moved to the Legon City Mall with less than 24 hours’ notice.

According to Opare Addo, the venue change was a deliberate attempt by the government to frustrate the programme. He claimed that the Youth Wing had made initial arrangements to use the Accra Mall park, but received a last-minute letter from the Municipal Assembly stating that the President would be having a programme at the same park.

Opare Addo expressed his skepticism about the President’s sudden interest in holding an event at the Accra Mall Park, citing his years of experience in the area. Despite the setback, the NDC youth leader successfully launched the 24-Hour Economy Park at the Legon City Mall, calling on young people to vote against the NPP in the upcoming general election.

The event, which ran from December 1 to 3, featured over 30 vendors and service providers, as well as music performances by notable artists like Fameye and Sefa. Opare Addo emphasized the importance of the election, stating that it’s about resetting Ghana and building a better future for young people.
